Wound Care Program
Winter Haven Hospital’s Wound Care Program is
designed to enhance the person’s ability to manage acute or chronic
wounds. Our goal is to promote wound healing and aid in discharge
planning for a continuum of care.
Hours of Operation
Our hours of operation are 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Monday
- Friday for outpatient and seven days per week for inpatient.
Services
Our team provides an individualized and specialized
rehabilitation assessment with the person and family’s input.
Goals are set accordingly to YOUR specific needs.

All feedback is thoroughly reviewed by our
administration. Any actions or outcomes resulting from your comments
are communicated to you. Serving your rehabilitation needs with top
quality, ethical care, and services is our most important goal. We
also study outcomes and satisfaction trends, and include them in our
quarterly and annual reports.
Inpatient/Outpatient Wound Care
Individuals who would benefit from the wound care
services have the following diagnoses:
Infected Wound/Cellulitis _ Burns
Diabetic Ulcers _ Post Surgical Wounds
Venous Stasis _ Arterial Wounds
Pressure Ulcers _ Other wounds that resist healing
The Wound Care Programs provide services that:
Evaluate wounds and identify risk factors
Provide comprehensive interdisciplinary treatment
Stress education for prevention and wellness
Provide follow up and photo documentation of wound
progress
A licensed physical therapist provides a thorough
evaluation of the person and the wound care concerns. Communication
remains constant with the person, the family, physician and payer
throughout treatment.
Treatment is tailored to meet each person’s
needs.
Family Services
Family members are important to us, and to the healing
of the person served. Our staff provides education to help the person
and the family manage the wound care as independently as possible.
