Critical thinking is very important; OB staff is proficient in care of labor pt., assisting in delivery, care of newborn at delivery, circulating and scrubbing for c-sections/D&Cs, recovery of same pts., triage of pregnant patients
Most common meds / those nurses must be familiar with:
Magnesium sulfate, pitocin, terbutaline, stadol, ampicillin, methergine, Hemabate, Labatelol, cytotec, vistaril and sufenta

RNC, through NCC (National Cert Corp)
