Cardiac Rehabilitation Services
Location:
- Inpt Office – Snively Basement
- Outpatient Center – 1st floor of new expansion (currently under construction), to open Fall, 2008!
Director:
Lisa Schlagel, RN, BA
Services:
- Inpatient – Services in the acute setting, including low level activity & education for patients prior to discharge
- Outpatient – Will offer program of monitored activity with individualized educational plans from multidisciplinary team (RNs, Dietitian, Psychologist)
Typical patient diagnosis:
- Inpatients – ALL cardiac diagnosis
- Outpatients – s/p AMI (within 12 months), s/p CABG, stable angina, heart valve replacement/repair, angioplasty (with or without stenting), heart transplant
Common skills utilized:
Critical thinking, superior assessment skills, EKG & arrhythmia interpretation
Most common meds / those nurses must be familiar with:
All cardiac meds (including antihypertensives, lipid lowering agents, diabetic meds, etc.), emergency/ACLS meds
Care extenders used:
No. All professional staff.
Certification for Differential:
Cardiac Vascular Nurse (ANCC) or ACSM Registered Clinical Exercise Specialist
Selling points for Unit:
