Enterostomal Therapy Team

Unit Manager:

Asst. Unit Manager:

Mary Lopez, RN

The Enterostomal Therapy team focuses on preventative skin care and ostomy care throughout the hospital.  This team of two RNs assess, initiate prevention & treatment measures as needed, provide additional treatment recommendations to physicians, and educate staff, patients, and families.  They are a tremendous resource in patient care and maintain superior knowledgeable regarding evidence-based practice in skin care, treatments & prevention measures.  They are also knowledgeable about various products for the prevention of skin breakdown, general skin care, wound care, and ostomy care.  The work of the ET Team has resulted in reduced hospital acquired pressure ulcers.  They also consult with outpatients, when referred.
