Measuring the Quality of Stroke Care at Winter Haven Hospital

Winter Haven Hospital has been a Joint Commission Certified Stroke Program since 2006. It is recognized at the Gold (top) Level for quality by the American Heart Association.

Physicians, therapists, nurses, social workers and others work as a team with the patient and family to diagnose, treat, prevent complications and prepare the patient for home care or rehabilitation. Care begins in the Emergency department and may continue through an intensive rehabilitation program at Joy Fuller Rehab Center (a part of Winter Haven Hospital).

Data is collected in the Outcomes Management database and submitted to Joint Commission for monitoring. Winter Haven Hospital’s data demonstrates excellence in care. All numbers and rates listed below are for the most recent quarter July, August and September 2009.
