Winter Haven Hospital's Rehabilitation Services is proud to have received the highest accreditation given by the Commission for Accreditation of Rehab Facilities (CARF).

CARF is a national agency which reviews rehabilitation programs for Leadership, Patient Care, Quality, Satisfaction and Efficiency.

We have received a three year accreditation in the following areas:

  • Inpatient Program located in the
    Joy-Fuller Rehabilitation Center

    Comprehensive Rehabilitation and
    Acquired Brain Injury Programs

  • Outpatient Programs located at the Gill Jones Campus
Medical Outpatients for orthopedic and musculoskeletal diagnoses.

Esteem Outpatient Neurological Program including the Acquired Brain Injury program.

Community Employment Services and Vocational Evaluation

  • Lake Wales Medical Centers has achieved accredit- tion for Medical Rehab Outpatient for the first time.

Some of the Commendations given to our organization note the outstanding, capable rehabilitation staff, staff leadership, and the uniqueness of several of our programs.

In 2001 we were able to merge our two Outpatient programs (formerly located at 200 Avenue K and in Auburndale) into a beautiful, spacious and well designed center that enhances our ability to serve a diverse clientele. These programs are now located at Winter Haven Hospital's Gill Jones Campus, 3425 Lake Alfred Road in Winter Haven.

Our focus in the Outpatient Rehabilitation Center is to serve a wide variety of impairments and to assist patients in continuing to live in their community at their highest level of participation. By individu-alizing our care we have achieved a high level of patient satisfaction with our services and enabled the majority of the people we serve to achieve their goals set on admission. Outpatient staff mem-bers are specially trained to serve a broad variety of clients.

The outpatient center in addition to its adult clients also features sports medicine for the 13 year old and older population. Therapists co-ordinate care with parents and coaches when needed.

The Esteem Outpatient Program assists patients with acquired brain injuries to re-integrate into the community through therapy and planned activities in the com-munity. On discharge from the program many of these individuals are evaluated for vocational opportunities and assisted in job placement.

The Winter Haven Hospital Rehab-ilitation Division prides itself in the continuity of care that we can provide for patients along their road to recovery from inpatient to outpatient and back into the community. For more information, call (863) 292-4060 or 1-800-283-1738.
