The14th annual Mid-Florida Medical Services Foundation Fall Gala was held Tuesday, November 11, at Nora Mayo Hall. Roy Firestone, host of ESPN’s “Up Close Prime Time” was the evening’s featured speaker. The gala raised more than $300,000 for the Mid-Florida Medical Services Foundation, which uses the proceeds for the health care scholarship endowment fund. The fund provides scholarships and financial aid packages to help Polk residents who want to enter the health care profession and agree to work for Winter Haven Hospital after graduation.
