February 26 - Mission Possible:  Impacting Heart Disease!
Despite incredible medical advances, Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) remains the number 1 cause of death in both men and women, killing over 1 million people in our country every year! Seeking to aggressively reduce the CVD (& stroke) death rate, the American Heart Association (AHA) established an "IMPACT Goal".....that is, "By 2010, to reduce coronary heart disease, stroke and risk by 25 percent."  As the AHA strategically pursues this goal, they have identified the most high risk populations in order to ensure attention to any unique needs or considerations.   This informative panel presentation will feature three of those high risk populations by local medical experts, as well as an overview of the current AHA statement about reducing risk in all populations.
