Our many services
provide a comprehensive
team approach
to persons with
a wide variety
of impairments,
including but
not limited to,
orthopedic injuries/surgeries,
musculoskeletal
disorders, strokes,
brain injuries,
and other neurological
conditions. Each
person we serve
receives a comprehensive
evaluation and
educational program
to assist with
understanding
how his or her
impairment has
impacted participation
in life situations.
Treatment is
geared toward
restoring participation
in our patient's
environment of
choice.

The Joy-Fuller
Rehabilitation
Center Located
on the seventh
floor of Winter
Haven Hospital
the Joy-Fuller
Rehabilitation
Center, is a
24-bed inpatient
rehab program,
and the only
"rehab hospital"
in Polk County.
The center provides
a comprehensive
interdisciplinary
team approach,
and serves adults
who meet our
admission criteria
and have impairments
as a result of
strokes, brain
injuries, orthopedic
disorders, musculoskeletal
disorders and
other neurological
conditions.
As a part of
monitoring our
quality within
our programs
we continually
analyze our programs
patient satisfaction
levels, efficiency,
and effectiveness.
We compare our
programs to the
southeast United
States and the
nation. For the
year 2001, the
Joy-Fuller Rehabilitation
Center served
352 persons with
impairments from
brain injuries,
strokes, and
orthopedic disorders.
-
We discharged
86% of our
patients
back to their
home environment,
which is
in line with
our region
and the nation.
-
Our stroke
patients
had better
overall improvement
in functional
tasks than
our region
and the nation.
We believe our
past year of
growth is based
on the fact that
we want to continue
to provide our
community with
high quality,
cost effective
rehabilitation
services. "Building
on Accomplishments",
is not just a
phrase, but our
way of serving
our community.
