Babysitting Training
This class teaches safety, accident prevention, handling emergencies and how to be a responsible babysitter.  For young people ages 11-16.  Space is limited, so call early.
Dates: August 23 or November 8, 2003
Time: 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Where: Regency Medical Center Classroom, Winter Haven
Fee: $30.00 includes course materials, drinks, snack

Building Better Bones
For women and men of all ages, this 2-part class will give you the tools to build better bones and lessen the damaging effects of osteoporosis.  Includes the disease process, nutrition, medical management, and exercise.  Presented by Winter Haven Hospital's Regency Medical Center and Outpatient Rehabilitation Services.
Dates: September 4 and 11, 2003
Time: 5:30 - 7:30 P.M.
Where: Regency Medical Center Classroom, Winter Haven
Fee: $20.00 includes reference notebook and bone-healthy refreshments.

Living With Diabetes
A four-week course including an overview of diabetes, meal planning, self-blood glucose monitoring, awareness of complications, and dealing with stress.  The cost for this course is $25.00 per person.
Dates: First four Wednesdays of each month
Time: 1:00 P.M. - 3:30 P.M.
Where:Winter Haven Hospital Education Classrooms

Lung Disease Education
Winter Haven Hospital's Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program offers free community education lectures.  These informative topics are focused on those people who have or are associated with lung diseases and are taught by professionals who invite your questions.  Sessions are about one hour in length starting at 11:00 A.M. and are held at the VFW Hall, 231 East Lake Avenue, Auburndale.  Also available: an individual rehabilitation program for people afflicted with Chronic Lung Disease.  Therapies and instruction, accompanied with your physician order are provided by a multidisciplinary staff.  Approved by Medicare and most major insurance companies.  Location:  Winter Haven Hospital.  Call (863) 297-1825  for more information about this program.

Book/Movie Discussion:
Join us for a discussion of a book or movie related to living life to the fullest and celebrating our later years.
Exploring Meditation:
Learn how meditation can enrich your life.
Laugh a Lot Lunch:
Bring your lunch and join in telling funny real life experiences.
Journaling:
Recalling and Recording the Stories of Our Lives: a great way to heal yourself and a wonderful gift to leave younger generations.
These activities are planned and organized by Chuck Warren, a social worker with Winter Haven Hospital’s ESTEEM Rehabilitation Program. Chuck is a Sage-ing Leader intern with the Spiritual Eldering Institute. Quit Smart
If you or someone you care about has been thinking about quitting cigarettes, consider the QUIT SMART method.  In a few brief classes QUIT SMART can show you the best way to break free from cigarettes for good!

Time: All classes are from 6:00 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.
Where: Winter Haven Hospital Classroom F, Winter Haven
Fee: $50.00 ($25.00 for MFMS Employees)
