Taking Local Healthcare To
The Next Level Of Excellence
East Polk
county
is
growing
by
leaps
and
bounds. The most conservative estimates
call for this areas population to increase by
at
least
3
to
5%
annually
well
into
the
foreseeable
future.
This
landmark
population
shift
is
characterized
not just by the usual historic retiree groups coming
here
from
northern
states,
but
by
whole
new
demographic
groups.
These
new
future
East
Polk
residents
are
represented
by
younger
more
affluent
families from South Florida and the Orlando area as
well as amazingly a significant amount of European
citizens as well. With this rapid and significant influx
of population it is common sense to expect there will
be
a
significant
increase
in
demand
for
goods
and
services in this region.
Consequentially
one
of
the
most
critical
services
these new and future East Polk residents will require
is
access
to
high
quality healthcare.
As East
Polk’s
major
medical
center
not-for-profit
527
bed Winter
Haven Hospital and its women and childrens hospital
the Regency Medical Center will be the key providers
of these services.
The Mid-Florida Medical Services Foundation’s mission is to develop philanthropic resources to support Winter Haven Hospital and the rapidly expanding communities it serves. Foundation Trustees, civic leaders, our corporate partners and local philanthropists understand how vitally important it is that the Foundation succeed in its efforts to raise more funds for the patients we serve.
This past year Foundation friends have taken this initiative to the highest levels yet: with our Fall Gala raising over $330,000.00 for Winter Haven Hospital’s new openheart surgery center, the Foundation’s Annual Fund Campaign and R.D. Saterbo Golf Tournament delivering $170,000.00 to Winter Haven Hospital for cardiovascular nursing education, and over $30,000.00 in new named healthcare scholarships created for East Polk residents.
All this has been accomplished in conjunction with the recent marvelous pledge of $500,000.00 from the Winter Haven Hospital Auxiliary to support the medical centers massive new building project. When you consider this, I think you can see how everyone involved with the Foundation not only recognizes the importance of our mission but is actively engaged in applying their time, their talent, and their financial resources to assure we will continue to have the best healthcare available now and in the future.
This is an exciting time to be associated with the Foundation and Winter Haven Hospital, and the future looks even brighter. To each individual and organization helping us currently we extend our sincere gratitude and thanks. To those of you who want to help make a difference in the quality of life we all enjoy here we ask you to call the Foundation today at (863) 291-6732 and find out how you can become a part of taking local healthcare to the next level of excellence.
Sincerely,
