Rosemond’s Managerial Parent: A Skillshop On Excellence In
Discipline
The Managerial Parent is a five-week skill shop for
parents of children ages three through adolescence and professionals who
work with children and/or families. Included are model strategies for
managing sibling rivalry, bedtime problems, disobedience, tantrums, public
misbehavior & academic performances.

Sage-ing Workshops
The purpose of these workshops is to help participants
develop a new and more positive view of growing older. We focus on
personal growth and contributing to our family and community. No
matter what our age, we can continue to learn and grow. We learn the
joys of elderhood and the skills to make our elder years more meaningful

Total Joint Replacement
For any individual considering or scheduled for total
joint replacement, this class teaches expectations pre and post surgery,
i.e. pain, exercise, length of stay, equipment and follow up care.
Class is taught by Orthopedic nurses and Occupational and Physical
therapists.

Living With Diabetes
A four-week course including an overview of diabetes,
meal planning, self-blood glucose monitoring awareness of complications,
and dealing with stress.

Lung Disease
Winter Haven Hospital’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Program offers free community education lectures. These informative
topics are focused on those people who have lung disease. Friends and
family members are also encouraged to attend. The classes are on many
different topics and are taught by professionals who invite your questions.
Sessions are about one hour in length and are held throughout the
year at various locations.
Also available: an individualized Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program for
those with Chronic Lung Disease. Endurance training, education
and instruction is given by qualified respiratory therapists and a
multidisciplinary team that varies with the individual needs of the client.
The program is 5 weeks long, meeting twice weekly and is
geared towards the individual goals and disease process. The
Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is approved by Medicare and most major
insurance companies. Physicians referral is required.

Babysitting Training
This class teaches safety, accident prevention,
handling emergencies and how to be a responsible babysitter. For young
people ages 11-16. Space is limited, so
call early.

Building Better Bones
For women and men of all ages, this 2-part class will
give you the tools to build better bones and lessen the damaging effects of
osteoporosis. Includes the disease process, nutrition, medical
management, and exercise. Presented by Winter Haven Hospital's
Regency Medical Center and Outpatient Rehabilitation Services.
