Winter Haven Hospital recently honored it's volunteers with an "Appreciation Brunch," hosted by the Executive Management Staff. The Hospital Cafeteria was "ablaze" in red, white & blue and a Patriotic Theme was used throughout, from the table decorations to the attire of those attending. Peggy Kujan, vocalist, and Garry Jackson, pianist, provided the Entertainment.
A delicious "gourmet" feast was prepared and served by the Hospital Nutrition Services, under the direction of Michael Noice. It was thoroughly enjoyed by over 225 attendees. The Honorees included Volunteers from Winter Haven Hospital, Lake Wales Medical Centers and the Regency Medical Center.
Lance Anastasio, Hospital President, welcomed the group and thanked them for their invaluable contribution. He also accepted a check of $75,000, the 2nd installment of a Financial Pledge by the Group.

Fran Hoskins, CDVS, Director of Volunteer Services, installed the newly elected Winter Haven Hospital Auxiliary Officers for the 2002-2003 Fiscal Year:
Betty Fierro, President; Patrick Dunn, 1st V.P.; Diane Adams, 2nd V.P.; Trina Sprott, Recording Secretary; Mildred Hrezo, Corresponding Secretary; Giandy Fiorito, Treasurer; Shelly Dinunzio, Historian; Joe Matthews, Parilamentarian; Emily Anderson, Red Cross Liaison; Jane Stone, LWMC's Liaison.
To commemorate the occasion, Fran presented each Board Member with a "special gift," a Patriotic Team Pin, which is to be worn with pride for the organization they represent
Joe Matthews, Past President, was recognized for his leadership during his 2-year term with a special engraved plaque in honor of his contribution. Dorman Ehlers, who is leaving the Board following many years of devoted service, was also honored for his outstanding commitment .
During the Celebration Special Awards were given to the following Volunteers:
Volunteer Geese Award: The "Geese Award" recognizes the special efforts of a core group of volunteers who go above & beyond the call of duty throughout the year ensuring continuity of service. Fran presented each with a "Geese Lapel Pin" in honor their contribution:

Above & Beyond Award Plaques were presented to Emily Anderson & Maureen Harnish for their tremendous effort throughout the year.
Additionally, four Volunteers, who were recognized by their peers and staff for their significant contributions, received the prestigious Volunteer Spirit Award. This year's Honorees were:

Executive Staff Members, Lance Anastasio, President & CEO along with Vice Presidents, Joe Connell, of Lake Wales Medical Centers; & Lewis Murray & Nat West of Winter Haven Hospital, presented each recipient a special engraved plaque and floral bouquet. Grace McMahon was not present.
