Haven Hospital
is established to provide the youth of our community
opportunities for personal growth and development. They perform
supplementary services in the hospital and through this gain personal
satisfaction, development of personality, maturity and the understanding of
various health careers that a hospital environment offers them in planning
their future.
What is a Teenage Volunteer?
The
Teenage Volunteer is a special kind of teen who serves in the Hospital
without pay, giving people a helping hand.
Why is a Teenage Volunteer Important?
Teenage Volunteers are important because they provide the extra
personal attention, care, warmth, and service with a smile, that adds so
much to the comfort and well-being of patients-leaving the regular staff to
concentrate on making patients well as quickly as possible.
How Does a Teenage Volunteer Serve?
Teenage Volunteers assist in various departments wherever help
is needed.
How Does a Teen Benefit by Service?
Teens gain experience by working in many area of the Hospital.
Are Teenage Volunteers Trained?
A Teenage Volunteer gets careful preparation for the job
including orientation and on-the-job training. Teens are assigned tasks for
which they are specifically trained and perform their assignment under the
direction and supervision of Hospital and Volunteer personnel.

There
